Biographical Sketch

Erick is a Research Area Specialist on a longitudinal study measuring adolescent substance use and the development of impulse control.

Prior to working at NRLC, he served his community as a Firefighter/EMT and went on to utilize his skills in the emergency room.  Through his public service, Erick gained valuable experience treating diverse populations, including behavioral health patients.  During his undergraduate studies, he was a Research Assistant in the Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics department at UT Health San Antonio.  Utilizing biomedical research techniques, he assisted in the examination of gene expression in relation to differentiation and retention of tissue resident memory T-cells.
